About

The About page shows all the publicly available information about your church or place — contact details, address, opening times, languages, services, groups, and public profiles. This is the information that appears on church finders, websites, and Google.

1. From the overview page for your church/place
2. Click About in the left menu

What You'll See

The About page displays your church's public information in several sections:

Details (left panel)

• Your church logo and official name
• Place type and organisational hierarchy
• Street and postal addresses
• Website URL
• Phone number
• Languages spoken during services
• Services offered
• Social media links
• Description

Opening Times (right panel)

• Service times listed by day of the week
• Click New to add a new opening time

Public Profiles

• People with roles that have public profiles (e.g., pastors). These appear on websites and church finders, showing their name, photo, and title.

Active Groups

• Groups that are publicly visible, showing their image, name, and type.

Departments (if applicable)

• Child places/departments associated with your place.

Editing Your Information

1. Click Edit on the details panel
2. Update the fields across the following sections:

General Details

• Official Name — Your places full name as it appears publicly.
• Short Name — An abbreviated name (e.g., "Wahroonga" instead of "Wahroonga Seventh-day Adventist Church").
• Description — How would you describe this place to a visitor? This information is used for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and Google Business when connected.

Contact Details

• Website URL — Choose between your Adventist Place Website (auto-generated) or a Custom Website URL if your church has its own website.
• Phone Number

Languages Spoken During Services

• Select one or more languages spoken during your church services.

Social Accounts

• Facebook URL / Instagram URL / TikTok URL / YouTube URL — Links to your church's social media pages. All optional.

Services

• Select the types of services your places offers (e.g., Hearing Loop, Wheelchair Access).

Street Address

• Your church's physical address with a map pin. Drag the pin if the location needs adjusting.

Postal Address

• Your church's mailing address, if different from the street address.

After Saving

You'll return to the About page with your updated information. Changes are synced to public profiles, church finders, and (if enabled) your Google Business listing.

Tip: Click the More menu at the top of the About page to view the Audit Log, which shows a history of all changes made to your church's information.
